“I returned a couple days ago from my third straight Minister's Conference. THANKS be to God and Ligonier Ministry for making this available. It is truly my Spiritual Oasis each year!”
— Mark Salmon, Corpus Christi, TX
"The 2006 Pastor's conference in Orlando was an experience hard to put in words. The teaching was profound and challenging, the opportunities to network were unlimited and the blessings of rest welcomed. The conference came into my life at a time when I started to feel tired of fighting. I have been in ministry for less than three years and I was already getting tired. That is not good. It is not what I hopped for when preparing for ministry. The issues within the denomination I am ordained, the fights for liberal theological agendas and departure from the Truth pulled me down. At the conference I met God fearing pastors that were excited about ministry and God's leading in their life. We had great conversations, we prayed together and were encouraged by the Word of God. I highly recommend this conference for the pastors that are new in ministry. Believe me when I say that there is too much the seminaries are not teaching us these days!"

"There is only one word that comes to mind to describe the 2006 Ligonier conference in Lake Mary, Florida - Riveting!
I've had the opportunity to attend many conferences in my lifetime but, I embarrassingly admit, this is the first one that has caused me to think deeply about the foundations of my faith, and to help give a voice to it. In the front of the room where the general sessions were held was a banner that quotes R.C. Sproul on which he describes his vision to 'help Christians articulate what they believe and why they believe it.' With me, Sproul has hit a home run. I now understand better what I believe and why I believe it.
The first day alone was worth the 2,300 mile trip. Various sessions on God-Centered Preaching helped me to realize, like I never have before, what an awesome responsibility it is to handle God's Word and why we need to be extremely careful and precise in doing so. Then, onto God-Centered Worship. As R.C. Sproul puts it, 'People have historically looked for the power of God everywhere else than where God has put it.' The third day emphasized God-Centered Adult Education, God-Centered Evangelism, and God-Centered Mercy Ministry - much of which was brought to us by Ligon Duncan, a remarkably successful preacher and teacher himself. The Vesper Service held at Saint Andrew's Chapel was an amazing experience and capped that day's teaching. Even though he was struck virtually silent earlier in the week with laryngitis, his voice returned with authority as Steve Lawson's powerful preaching from the book of Erza had several pastors shouting "Bring The Book!" the next day.
The conference ended on an historical note. Max McLean's dramatic reading of 'Here I Stand' by Martin Luther left the entire audience in stunned silence. R.C. rounded out the week with a peripheral talk about Martin Luther's book A Simple Way to Pray, which was also the title of the closing session.
Under R.C. Sproul's teaching, complemented by the truly inspiring and awesome preaching of Steve Lawson and Ligon Duncan, participants couldn't help but be moved by the depth and breath of the theology and doctrine that was discussed not only from the platform, but also in the hallways, courtyards and cafes in and around the Marriott by pastors themselves.
Pastor Chuck, whom I was fortunate enough to accompany, was so blessed. He had this to say:
'This was, purely and simply, one of the best conferences I ever attended. It was very intimate and biblically sound, comparable only to Dr. John MacArthur's Shepherd's Conference in L.A. and Dr. Ryken's PCRT Conference at Tenth Presbyterian in Philadelphia. This conference is a must for all serious pastors who not only want to feed their congregation the true Word of God, but also want to grow themselves. I will be insisting that every minister associated with the Philadelphia Community Church attend every year!'"
