Dr. Sinclair B. Ferguson is senior minister of the historic First Presbyterian Church in Columbia, S.C., and a distinguished visiting professor of systematic theology at Westminster Theological Seminary in Dallas, Texas.
A native of Scotland, Dr. Ferguson earned three degrees, including his Ph.D., from the University of Aberdeen. He was ordained into the ministry in the Church of Scotland and spent some sixteen years in ministry in his homeland, including five years at St. George’s Tron Church in Glasgow.
Dr. Ferguson has served at a professor of systematic theology at Westminster Theological Seminary’s campuses in Philadelphia and in Dallas, as well as at other U.S. seminaries.
He has been an editor and a trustee with the Banner of Truth Trust publishing house and has been a prolific author. His published titles include The Holy Spirit, Grow in Grace, Let’s Study Philippians, John Owen on the Christian Life, and, for children, The Big Book of Questions and Answers and The Big Book of Questions & Answers About Jesus.
Dr. Ferguson is a member of the council of the Alliance of Confessing Evangelicals and has spoken at the annual Alliance-sponsored Philadelphia Conference on Reformed Theology, as well as the annual Ligonier Ministries National Conference.
Dr. Ferguson and his wife, Dorothy, have been married for thirty-six years. They have four children.
